What’s Trending

Following my graduation from Emerson College, I began working as an Associate Editorial Reporter for What’s Trending. I cover digital culture, entertainment, and general news, and am based in Los Angeles. You can find my full body of work with this publication here.

Billboard

I recently contributed to Billboard as a freelancer. My piece, linked to the right, takes a look at mid 00’s rock songs that found a new fan base and re-entered the charts because of TikTok trends.

AfterBuzz TV

In the spring semester of my final year at Emerson, I worked as an intern at AfterBuzz TV & Better Together with Maria Menounos. For the AfterBuzz TV side of the internship, I covered entertainment news for the company website, founded by Maria Menounos and Keven Undergaro. You can find my web articles for this platform below.

This Q&A for Affection Magazine online was a follow up interview with indie pop artist KIIRA ahead of the release of her single “Steady.” She plans to release her EP, “Butterfly,” in 2022.

A Q&A with Grammy-nominated multi-genre artist Madison Cunningham for The Boston Globe. We spoke on her latest music, her inspiration for releasing her EP, “Wednesday” comprised of only covers, and her interesting run in with Harry Styles that led to her opening for him at Madison Square Garden.

This listicle for Affection Magazine was a Y2K inspired summer mixtape for the 2000s teen inspired issue.

A Q&A with Boston-based indie rock band Coral Moons ahead of their debut album, “Fieldcrest,” for The Boston Globe.

For this story with my summer 2021 internship at Hola Cultura in Washington, D.C., I spoke with Colombian multidisciplinary artist Carolina Mayorga about her community art gallery, ARTidotes, at the Joan Hisaoka Healing Arts Gallery in the District. To read the story about this unique gallery, click on the image at the left.

I had the opportunity to contribute to The Boston Globe as a freelancer in the music section. To the right, you can read my article about a list of songs curated for fans of Olivia Rodrigo’s new album, SOUR. The album ushered a new wave of feminist breakup anthems for Generation Z, and the list reflects this phenomenon.

Most recently, I served as the Content Managing Editor of The Berkeley Beacon, Emerson College’s only student newspaper, founded in 1947. I managed primarily the Living Arts and Opinion sections, and contributed my own stories and photos occasionally as well. Linked to the right is my staff profile, where you can find the stories I wrote and reported on for the paper, both in print and online.

I have worked as a staff writer at Affection Magazine for about a year now. Most recently, I spoke with a sheep farmer in Scotland about her transition to an online AirBnB meditation experience for tourists amid the COVID—19 pandemic. Click the image above to check out the latest print edition.
